Everything starts with the engineering definition. You author a master Bill of Materials — the child items, quantity-per and scrap allowance — alongside the Bill of Resources, the machines, labour and operations each level consumes. Multi-level assemblies explode into an indented tree of FG, SFG and raw material. Nothing is usable by production until it is released, and engineering changes flow through a controlled ECN.
From a released BOM you raise a work order — internal (WO) or a sales work order (SWO) against a customer order — manually or auto-generated from the sales plan. It is born a draft, released, and its job cards print for the floor.

Material moves onto a work order in two controlled steps, mirroring the warehouse's reserve-then-pick discipline. A production requisition explodes the BOM against the work order; stock is reserved to earmark it so it can't be double-committed; then it is issued to the line — the real stock deduction, charged to the order. A wrong issue can be reversed, and unused material returns on the same slip.
As the order runs, operators book good WIP and reject WIP at each operation, plus any process scrap. Production slips move work-in-progress from one operation to the next. Stock only truly moves at issue and at finished-goods transfer — so WIP tracks quantity through the route without touching finished-goods stock.
Every work order follows a route: an ordered sequence of operations, each on a work center, each with its standard time and process specifications — the dimensional and quality parameters an operator has to hit. Master process sheets are authored once and reused; order-specific sheets carry a job's own route. The floor works from a printed process sheet.
As each operation completes, its status is booked — and it can branch straight into in-process inspection before the part moves on. Defects are mapped to the work center that produced them, and process-cost and rejection MIS show exactly where operations lose time and yield.

When the route is complete, output transfers into inventory as finished or semi-finished goods — the manufacturing event and the stock transfer, lot-tracked where you need traceability, with over-production handled explicitly. The work order closes as completed, and the finished goods are immediately on-hand for dispatch and for Fast Quality's FG inspection.
Parts that fail on the line aren't lost. Line rejection is captured against the work order, at part or child-part level. A rework decision opens a self-contained sub-process — a rework route is defined and executed, and salvaged parts either transfer to finished goods or return into the main flow. Scrap is booked out, and replacement can raise a purchase requisition.
